The National Agency for Standards and Metrology conducts surprise inspections at gas stations in the city of Calavi. The on-site observation reveals that there are pumps that do not meet the standards. As a result, several of these pumps are sealed, and station managers are summoned.
Speaking on Bip Radio this Thursday, the Director-General of ANM urged gas station customers to be vigilant because not all pumps meet the standard.
“These pumps that dispense products do not deliver quantities that conform to the requested nominal measurement. For example, if you request 5 liters, you may not necessarily receive the full 5 liters,” he emphasized on Bip Radio.
He stated that this practice is a violation of regulations and will not go without sanctions. According to him, there will be fines and pro forma invoices corresponding to the pumps at the cited stations.
To avoid falling victim to this situation, the Director-General of the National Agency for Standards and Metrology advises the public to exercise caution and assures them of continued inspections throughout the national territory. “We ask them that every time they want to make a purchase, to check the instruments with the green sticker and the current year to ensure that ANM has verified them and that the instruments comply because it’s the ANM sticker that shows that these instruments have been verified and are in compliance with regulations,” he highlighted.
