Abomey-Calavi University in Benin has secured the 195th position among the top 200 universities in Africa, according to the recent African University Ranking.

Abomey-Calavi University, the Beninese institution of higher education, has made its presence felt in the African University Ranking by achieving the 195th position among the top 200 universities in Africa.

The African University Ranking, known for its ranking approach based on valid and impartial web metrics, evaluated Abomey-Calavi University based on a set of rigorous criteria. These criteria include accreditation and approval, ensuring the compliance of educational programs with international standards. Moreover, the ranking takes into account the quality of education provided by the university and its academic reputation.

In this ranking largely dominated by South Africa, Egypt, and Nigeria, the University of Benin found itself in a lower position, also being surpassed by the University of Togo, ranked at 131st place. The University of Benin managed to outperform only Larbi Tebessi University of Tébessa, Bowen University, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Chouaib Doukkali University, and Redeemer’s University, which respectively occupied the last five positions.
