Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has unveiled his list of selected players for the preseason tour in Japan. Unwanted players, Sadio Mané and Bouna Sarr, are included in the squad.
It has become a tradition for European giants to embark on a summer tour outside the old continent to prepare for the upcoming season. As the reigning German champions, Bayern Munich has decided to head to Japan to sharpen their skills for the next campaign. The tour is part of the Audi Summer tour, which will see the Bavarians face teams like Manchester City.
For this occasion, Thomas Tuchel has revealed his list of selected players. The German coach has called up 44 players, including Sadio Mané and Bouna Sarr. Despite being rumored to leave this summer, the two Senegalese internationals will make the trip to Japan, possibly their last with the Munich giants. Thomas Muller and Eric Choupo-Moting, on the other hand, will be absent from the tour due to injuries.
The Cameroonian forward was injured during the match against FC Rottach-Egern, where Bayern thrashed the opposition 27-0. Choupo-Moting came on as a substitute during halftime when Bayern already led 18-0. However, he only played for 10 minutes before being substituted again in the 56th minute. He felt a slight pain in his knee after a light contact with an opponent’s defender, forcing him to leave the pitch. This injury has ruled him out of the trip to Japan.
