In a statement released this Wednesday, Bayern Munich announced that their young prodigy Jamal Musiala has been injured during training. Additionally, the Bavarian club also informed about the absence of Benjamin Pavard, who is in the process of leaving, from today’s session.

“Jamal Musiala has to take a break for the moment. The FC Bayern midfielder tore a muscle fiber at the back of his left thigh during training. This was revealed by an examination carried out by the medical team of FC Bayern,” wrote the Bavarian club in its publication. The duration of the young German international’s absence has not been specified, but he is expected to be out for several weeks.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is likely to miss the upcoming matches against Augsburg (this Sunday) and Borussia Mönchengladbach (September 2). The German international is also at risk of being unavailable for the national team’s friendly matches against Japan (September 9) and France (September 12).

In the same statement, the reigning German champions also announced that Frenchman Benjamin Pavard was also absent from today’s training session. “Benjamin Pavard was also absent from Wednesday’s training at the Säbener Straße due to illness,” the Bavarian club noted.

The current absence suggests the imminent departure of the French international. He only needs to obtain approval from his management to move to Lombardy and join Inter. This transfer will be made for a fee of around 32 million euros.
