As part of an effort to enhance identification and understanding of the symbols of the Republic among the younger generations, authorities are urging printers to prioritize the country’s symbols on the covers of notebooks for the upcoming school year.

Publishers and printers are being encouraged to print more of the symbols of the Togolese Republic on the covers of students’ notebooks. This was announced through a public circular note released by Ministers Dodzi Kokoroko and Kodjo Adedzé. This initiative aims to encourage the inclusion of national symbols such as the Togolese flag, national anthem, and motto on the covers of students’ notebooks for the upcoming school terms.

According to the guidelines in the circular note, publishers and printers are asked to follow a specific layout for integrating these symbols. The second cover page will feature the three verses of the national anthem, while the Togo motto will be placed in the same location. The third cover page, on the other hand, will present the “Marche républicaine” (Republican March) with the Togolese flag subtly embedded

This new approach aims to foster a greater knowledge of the Republic’s symbols from a young age, with the ultimate goal of strengthening social cohesion. The government is convinced that this initiative will also contribute to the reinforcement of the rule of law, the promotion of peace, and a culture of coexistence. These factors are perceived as key elements to achieve inclusive development and shared growth in Togo.
