Scorer of the equalizing goal for Al Nassr against Zamalek on Thursday in the Arab Club Champions Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo reacted modestly after the match on his social media.
Al Nassr came close to elimination from the Arab Club Champions Cup on Thursday. After a win and a draw in their first two matches in the competition, the club needed to avoid defeat against Zamalek to progress to the next round. While the Saudi team was trailing by a goal late in the match, Cristiano Ronaldo stepped in and scored a decisive goal to secure a draw against the Egyptians (1-1).
This result allowed the Saudi club to qualify for the next round of the competition, and full credit goes to their Portuguese player. After the match, he, as usual, posted a message on his social media: “Qualified. Well done, team!”, he simply wrote, preferring to highlight the team’s effort rather than his individual performance.
In the next round of the Arab Club Champions Cup, Al Nassr will face Raja Club Athletic. The match will take place next Sunday at 4 p.m. (GMT+1). The Saudis will likely need Cristiano Ronaldo once again to continue their journey. However, the Portuguese star can count on the support of the new recruits, especially Sadio Mané, who made his debut with Al Nassr on Thursday against Zamalek.
