The famous Togolese group Toofan has been named the Best African Group at the 10th edition of the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMAs).
The 10th edition of the AFRIMMAs took place at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. The event was a resounding success and brought together numerous personalities and renowned artists from the African music scene. One of the highlights of the evening was the announcement of the winner of the Best African Group award, which was awarded to Togo’s Toofan group.
Toofan was in competition with other groups from various African countries, including Disco Misr (Egypt), Sauti Sol (Kenya), Calema (São Tomé), The Cavemen (Nigeria), Show Dem Camp (Nigeria), Jano Band (Ethiopia), and Mafikizolo (South Africa). The competition was fierce, but Toofan ultimately received the title of Best African Group.
Toofan, composed of Barabas and Master Just, is well-known for their unique musical style that blends different genres, creating catchy music that transcends borders. Their victory at the AFRIMMAs 2023 is a testament to their exceptional talent and lasting impact on the African music scene.
