Since kicking off on Saturday, 13 January 2024, the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is well underway. Following the encounters between Senegal-Gambia and Cameroon-Guinea, it’s now time for the Algeria vs Angola match. Here are the official lineups.
The Fennecs are set to begin their journey in this AFCON! Algeria, crowned in 2019, is starting their campaign against Angola at 9 PM. Four years after their triumph in the final against Senegal and following a disappointing edition in Cameroon where they finished last in their group, Djamel Belmadi’s men are aiming for a third continental crown in the Ivory Coast. They kick off their journey in this 34th edition of the AFCON with a match against Angola at 8 PM GMT. Angola is returning to the competition after missing the last edition in Cameroon.
For this match, the Fennecs will rely, as usual, on their captain Riyad Mahrez. Atal and Bensebaini will flank the central pairing of Mandi – Aït-Nouri. Bentaleb will be in front of the defense. Bounedjah will lead the line, leaving Slimani on the bench. Bennacer, Chaïbi, and Belaïli make up the midfield. For Angola, Al-Ittihad striker Mabululu will spearhead the attack. Valenciennes defender Buatu starts in central defense.
