Following the resounding victory of the Ivory Coast Elephants, the Head of State, Alassane Ouattara, rewarded the team’s coach, Emerse Faé, with a generous sum of 100 million CFA francs. This gesture acknowledges the work accomplished by Faé at the helm of the national team.
The Ivorian team clinched the prestigious title at the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON). In the wake of this success, President Ouattara wished to express his gratitude towards coach Emerse Faé by awarding him this substantial amount.
Emerse Faé took over the Ivorian national team following the departure of Jean-Louis Gasset after a notable defeat against Equatorial Guinea. Emerse quickly grasped the magnitude of the task and led the team, from the last sixteen onwards, to a series of victories that culminated in triumph in the final.
It should also be noted that Emerse Faé was also distinguished at the end of the tournament as the best coach of the AFCON 2023 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
