The online assignment process for students entering 6th grade in the 2023-2024 academic year in Côte d’Ivoire will begin on July 25th and end on August 8th, 2023, according to the Ministry of National Education and Literacy.
The announcement was made during a press briefing in Abidjan on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023, by the Directorate of Orientation and Scholarships (DOB). “For the 2023 session, the online assignment process for 6th-grade students applies to all students admitted to the Certificate of Primary Education (CEPE), that is, students who obtained at least 85 points.
Taking into account parents’ feedback, the process will start on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023, at 11:59 PM and will conclude on Wednesday, August 8th, starting from 3:30 AM,” informed Karidja Koné, Director of DOB.
Furthermore, she clarified that regarding the online orientation and assignment process for students entering 2nd grade A or C, it applies to all 3rd-grade students who wish to continue their studies in public or private schools in Côte d’Ivoire and meet the requirements for general education orientation, which means being aged 20 or below and having an average grade of 10 or higher.
“The process involves guiding and assigning one’s child using a mobile phone through all mobile network operators by sending DOB as a text message to 9991 and following the instructions. The orientation and assignment for 2nd grade A or C will begin on Thursday, August 10th, 2023, at 11:59 PM and will conclude on Sunday, August 20th, 2023, starting from 11:30 PM. The cost of the operation is 200 FCFA,” she explained.
As a reminder, the 2023 session of the Primary Education Certificate (CEPE) examination recorded a national admission rate of 71.28% in Côte d’Ivoire, compared to 64.76% in 2022.
