Yao Kouassi Gervinho, former striker of the Ivory Coast national team, has expressed his desire to participate in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023. Indeed, the Ivorian striker expressed his wish to play in AFCON 2023 to represent his country. “I am back in good physical shape and feeling well. It has always been an honor for me to represent the Ivory Coast. The AFCON is the biggest African competition, so every young African dreams of playing in it. With the excitement, the atmosphere, and the crowd that we will welcome, it makes me eager to be part of this AFCON,” he emphasized.
The player, nicknamed “The Jaguar,” stated that he is feeling well and ready to participate in competitions after suffering an injury in Turkey on October 29, 2021. It is worth noting that since December 22, 2011, Gervinho has been the president of Sacraboutou Sports de Bondoukou, a football club in the Ivorian third division.
