Key player in Benin’s well-deserved victory against Togo (2-0) on Thursday, in the UFOA B U20 Cup classification match, Rodolfo Aloko was named Man of the Match.
As the reigning runners-up, Benin secured the bronze medal in the second edition of the UFOA B U20 Cup 2023, held in Abidjan. The Junior Squirrels finished on the third step of the podium after their victory against Togo in the classification match on Thursday. After being held at bay by the Sparrowhawks for much of the match, the Beninese turned the tables in the second half.
Executing the instructions received during halftime, the young lions struck with goals from Bienvenu Vignonou and Gabriel Mouleiro. Vignonou opened the scoring in the 55th minute, and Mouleiro sealed the deal in the last quarter of the game.
A key player in this impressive victory, Rodolfo Aloko was named Man of the Match, a well-deserved accolade for the Dynamo d’Abomey midfielder, the second Beninese player to receive this award in the competition after David TCHETCHAO received it in the semi-finals.
