Pushed towards the exit by Bayern Munich, who are not hiding their intentions, as evidenced by the blunt remarks of coach Thomas Tuchel regarding the Senegalese player, Sadio Mané might end up in Saudi Arabia. The Lion of Teranga has reportedly given his approval for a transfer to Al Nassr, according to L’Equipe’s information.

Has Sadio Mané finally resigned himself? While he was determined to stay and establish himself at Bayern Munich after a disappointing first season, the player was no longer in favor with his club’s management, despite them spending €32 million last summer to bring him in from Liverpool.

The mixed performance of the two-time African Ballon d’Or winner (12 goals and 6 assists in 38 matches), culminating in an outburst against his teammate Leroy Sané, allegedly exasperated the reigning German champions, who demanded his departure.

Coach Thomas Tuchel, who arrived midway through last season to replace Julian Nagelsmann and was one of the proponents of Mané’s transfer, took the responsibility of making the player understand the situation, using the media to do so. “Sadio did not meet expectations last season. The competition is fierce in his position. We have a ‘constellation’ that makes things very difficult for Sadio. The player is aware of it. I know his opinion, he knows mine and that of the club,” said the German technician in a press conference last week.

Mané-Al-Nassr Agreement This decision was fully understood by Sadio Mané, who has already started looking for a new destination. The reigning African champion has responded positively to the calls from Saudi Arabian clubs eager to sign the Lion of Teranga. The 31-year-old player has indeed said yes to Al Nassr, as reported by The Athletic and confirmed by L’Equipe.

The French media outlet states that the Bambali native has given his approval for a transfer to Cristiano Ronaldo’s club, which recently recruited Ivorian midfielder Seko Fofana from RC Lens. Now, it remains for the Saudi Pro League team to convince Bayern Munich to part with their player. The Bavarians had already set Mané’s price at €32 million, an amount that would likely not be an issue for the Arabian Peninsula side, given their unlimited financial resources.
