Every year, young Africans engage in procedures to access French universities to continue their studies. We all know that Campus France is the coveted target of most of these young people whose sole objective is to land in Emmanuel Macron’s country. The statistics are impressive.
According to the French ambassador to Benin, there are currently thousands of young Africans in French higher education institutions and universities. “Today, there are nearly 400,000 foreign students studying in France. Out of these 400,000, 200,000 are Africans,” he revealed.
In detail, Marc Vizy explains that out of the 400,000 foreign students, 200,000 are Africans, including 100,000 from North Africa and 100,000 from sub-Saharan Africa. “Out of the 100,000 from sub-Saharan Africa, there are 5,000 Beninese,” he specified.
According to the ambassador, the French authorities issue up to 1,500 visas to Benin every year for young people who wish to continue their studies in France. He also pointed out that there are visa refusals because it is a selection process, and it is not an automatic right to study in France.
In the procedure, the Consulate ensures that the applicant is rigorously going for studies and not for other purposes with the intention of staying in France as an “undocumented” individual
