From July 6 to 8, 2023, the president of the political party “Nouvel Ivoirien” (New Ivorian), Marie Carine Bladi, embarked on a tour in the Haut-Sassandra region to meet with the populations of Issia, Vavoua, Zoukougbeu, and Daloa to present her political platform and ambitions for the region.
From Haut-Sassandra, Marie Carine Bladi addressed the people, revealing the objectives of her political party. She stated that she is on a mission for a Ivory Coast that inspires dreams. “The scriptures support that God’s time is the best, and that time is now. I am a politician and the president of a political party. Since April 5, 2018, I have created the political party named NICIN, which stands for ‘Nouvel Ivoirien Nouvelle Côte d’Ivoire’ (New Ivorian New Ivory Coast). This political party is committed to a new Ivory Coast for the benefit of a new Ivorian. I am on a mission for an Ivory Coast that inspires dreams and serves as a model. We firmly stand against corruption, embezzlement of public funds, lack of equitable justice for all, favoritism in development planning, and misallocation of wealth… In addition to these issues, there is growing poverty and insecurity.”
She invited the population to embrace the NICIN political ideology. “NICIN is your instrument, your political support. NICIN is for you, it is the party of Haut-Sassandra. It is your party in Daloa, Issia, Vavoua, and Zoukougbeu,” she urged them.
In her speech, Marie Carine Bladi did not hide her desire to develop her region of origin, similar to many localities across the country. “Haut-Sassandra has seen many politicians. Their common denominator has always been their commitment to the development of our region. They represented our region. But after traveling to Daloa, Issia, Vavoua, and Zoukougbeu, I have come to the conclusion that much remains to be done. Those who came before us have not fully met the expectations of the people,” she expressed indignation before making a promise: “Our region needs a new political leader. Marie Carine Bladi, your daughter, presents herself to you as the defender, the advocate of Haut-Sassandra. Haut-Sassandra in all its components, departments, municipalities, sub-prefectures, villages, and hamlets.”
The current Ivorian news is dominated by the local elections scheduled for September 2, and the president of NICIN did not miss the opportunity to give her audience instructions in this regard. “The regional and municipal elections are approaching. Be careful about whom you give your vote to. Do not give your vote to a traveler. Do not give your vote to someone who will disappear once elected and reappear in the next election,” she said.
In conclusion, she discussed with “her people” the need to live in peace, especially during this election period. “We need peace. The people of Côte d’Ivoire need peace for these elections. It is only in peace that we can aspire to development. We invite the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI), through its leaders, to be an instrument that spreads peace and not fear and concern in the hearts of Ivorians,” Marie Carine Bladi emphasized.
