He expressed his gratitude to his fans and supporters, acknowledging that he is able to use his fame to help others and positively impact their lives. Davido highlighted that this tradition of donating to orphanages started a few years ago on his birthday, but now he wishes to make this initiative more sustainable to provide a better future for these vulnerable children.
This unprecedented act of generosity will aid no less than 13,811 children benefiting from the assistance of these institutions. By being extremely generous to the orphanages, Davido continues to live by his motto: “We rise by lifting others.” His exemplary actions have touched many lives, and he hopes that it will encourage others to support similar causes and bring positive change to society.
A tradition on his birthday! This is not the first time Davido has shown his commitment to Nigerian orphans. In 2021, the singer launched a fundraising campaign on social media, rallying his friends and fans around this noble cause. Through this initiative, he was able to raise a substantial amount of 200 million Naira for his birthday. Davido even personally added to this amount with an additional donation of 50 million Naira, bringing the total to 250 million Naira, which was fully distributed as donations to orphanages across Nigeria.
