Lionel Messi was finally confirmed this Saturday as a new player for Inter Miami. In a statement from the club, the Argentine World Cup champion gave his first impressions in his new colors.
Weeks after announcing that he would join the American club, Lionel Messi committed this Saturday with Inter Miami until 2025. After two mixed years at PSG, the Argentine superstar will finally officially start a new page of his career. Quoted in a statement from the club, the 2022 World Cup Champion, revealed his ambitions with David Beckham’s franchise.
“I am very happy to start this new stage of my career with Inter Miami and in the United States,” first declared the former Paris Saint-Germain player. He adds: “It’s a fantastic opportunity and together we will continue this wonderful project. Our goal is to work together to achieve the set objectives and I am very eager to contribute to my new club.”
Lionel Messi will have work to do with his new team. Inter Miami is currently last in the Eastern Division of Major League Soccer, the North American championship. The club will face Cruz Azul of Mexico at home on Friday as part of the Leagues Cup, which brings together American and Mexican clubs. Before that, La Pulga will be officially presented to the public this Sunday, during a major event organized in the club’s stadium.
