On Saturday, July 15, 2023, during an information and exchange meeting with political parties in Abidjan, the president of the CEI, Coulibaly Kuibiert Ibrahime declares: “The CEI has received a total of 14,147 claims. Of the total claims received, 3,548 were deemed inadmissible.”
According to the president of the CEI, 3,548 complaints were not taken into account either because they were filed late, because the quality of the complainant was insufficient, or because the complaint was filed with the CEI without evidence.
Continuing, Mr. Coulibaly Kuibiert explained that after examining his institutions, 3,058 applications were rejected, 7,541 complaints were recognized as justified and received a positive response. “These validated claims and systematically taken into account by the CEI are broken down at several levels, including 2,927 concerning registrations, 3,971 concerning corrections of mentions, and 643 cancellations,” he revealed.
According to the president of the CEI, complainants who said they were dissatisfied with the decisions of the CEI had the opportunity to go to local courts for a final decision. Because he says, “these court decisions are binding on us and will be taken into account as soon as they are notified to us.”
