According to a statement, Ivorian journalist Awa Ehoura, who passed away during the night of July 5th to 6th, 2023, will be buried on Saturday, July 22nd, 2023, at the cemetery in the Koumassi municipality, where she will rest forever.

The funeral arrangements for Awa Ehoura Wattara will begin in Abidjan with a condolence ceremony at the deceased’s residence in Port-Bouet 1, near the Ocean Pharmacy and the Port-Bouet 4 primary school, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Monday, July 17th, to Wednesday, July 19th, 2023.

A prayer vigil is scheduled in the courtyard of Ivosep Treichville from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21st, 2023. The body will be lifted on Saturday, July 22nd, 2023, at the same facility at 10:30 a.m. in the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Hall.

Prior to the burial at the Koumassi cemetery, the funeral procession will make a stop in front of RTI in Cocody to bid farewell to the institution where she spent most of her professional life.

Awa Ehoura, like a star, shone brightly on Ivorian television with her talent and uniqueness in presenting the news. She knew how to bring debates to life and conducted television interviews skillfully. She dedicated her entire life to journalism in Ivory Coast.

As a reminder, Awa Ehoura began her career in the audiovisual world on TV2 in the early 1990s. With her talent, she quickly progressed and became the director of La Première.
