On his Facebook page, on Monday, July 17, 2023, a Guinean blogger named Abdoulaye Chérif Haïdara made a surprising statement regarding the admission of the young TikToker Mariam to the baccalaureate exam, stating that she did not pass her Baccalaureate because her name does not appear on the national list.

After the official publication of the baccalaureate results by the Ministry of Pre-University Education and Literacy (MEPU-A), TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp subscribers strongly reacted to the rumors of Mariam Touré’s admission to the 2023 baccalaureate exam in Guinea.

However, this popular joy was short-lived, as on July 17, 2023, just two days later, Guinean blogger Abdoulaye Chérif Haidara announced his denial of what he referred to as false information. “Through this post, I withdraw my congratulatory message to Mariam after a [False announcement] of her admission to the 2023 baccalaureate. Sorry, but I will never applaud fraud and irregularities in Africa… Never! The future of our continent depends on it. My wish has always been for her to pass this exam if she truly deserves it, but to my surprise, the children from my neighborhood came to me with all the evidence that she did not pass the baccalaureate,” he wrote.

“We obtained her examination report, checked with MTN, tried with the national list, but her identity does not appear anywhere. We even had a girl who shared the same exam room with her, and only a few people separated their tables, and this girl also confirms the negative outcome of her results. Therefore, I join the pursuit of truth, fairness, and justice to inform you that based on all these elements, our sister did not pass her baccalaureate,” he continued.

Before concluding his remarks, he challenged Mariam, inviting her to publish proof of her admission to the baccalaureate if he had potentially lied. “If it turns out to be false, she can, as she knows how to do with her networks, enlighten us about her admission by presenting the validation message sent by MTN with the identification of her examination report. Otherwise, fate would have proven right those who wished for her failure. Which is far from being my case.”
