In just a few days, the football world will come alive with the Women’s World Cup 2023. The global tournament will be held in Australia and New Zealand from July 20th to August 20th. Four African nations will represent the continent in this tournament: South Africa, the winner of the 2023 AFCON, Morocco, Nigeria, and Zambia, the African runner-up.
These teams will have to battle hard to at least advance from the group stages, as the draw has placed them in tough pools. This is particularly the case for the Super Falcons, who will face Australia, Ireland, and Canada in Group B.
Nine-time African champions, Nigeria will open the door for African selections, facing Canada. After the Green and Whites, it will be Zambia’s turn the next day, facing Japan. On July 23rd, South Africa will take on Sweden, and the first round for African teams will conclude on July 24th with a match between Morocco and Germany.
