After winning the first leg (1-0), David Kiki’s Farul Constanta has been eliminated from the qualifying stages of the Champions League following their defeat to FC Sheriff (1-3) in the second leg of the first preliminary round.
A huge disappointment for Farul Constanta and David Kiki. The Romanian club, led by the Beninese international, will not advance past the first preliminary round of the Champions League. They were eliminated from the qualifying stages after their defeat against FC Sheriff in Moldova on Tuesday. Despite winning the first leg with Kiki’s goal (1-0), the visitors suffered a 3-1 defeat against their hosts.
At the end of regular time, the home team secured a 1-0 victory, thus leveling the aggregate score at 1-1. During extra time, Farul conceded two goals, ultimately losing 3-1 after 120 minutes and on aggregate. David Kiki was substituted in the 88th minute.
The journey of Farul Constanta in this season’s Champions League ends here. However, Kiki and his teammates will continue their European campaign in the Europa Conference League.
