Several people have lost their lives in the Donga department due to food poisoning.

Food poisoning has caused the loss of several lives in the Donga department. According to reports, three individuals from different families died in Igbéré, a locality in the Manigri district of the Bassila municipality. Four other poisoned individuals are being treated in health centers as they fight for their lives.

Upon learning of the tragedy, local authorities visited the grieving families and provided them with food as a gesture of solidarity and compassion.

Touched by the gesture of the prefectural authority, the village chief of Igbéré, Patrice Biaou, expressed gratitude to the government through its representative, the prefect. He also pleaded for the four hospitalized individuals.

It is worth noting that food poisoning is a recurring issue in the northern part of the country.
